The Asia Society Texas Center hosted the first Texas exhibition of Universe is Flux: The Art of Tawara Yūsaku, on Wednesday June 19th and will continue through September 15, 2013. The exhibition is comprised of 77 works, mostly ink on paper, and is the artist’s first major retrospective in the United States.
The public opening reception took place Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 7-9PM and Little Soya was a proud sponsor. There was a gallery performance by Mercury: The Orchestra Redefined, the acclaimed orchestra created a special program of contemplative music on period instruments inspired by ideas of nirvana, unity and beauty central to Tawara’s work and philosophy.
Our old friend DJ Sun provided atmospheric tunes as well.
Our favorite Houston designer, Danny Nguyen, made an appearance sporting a Little Soya sticker! He is soo stylish!
Little Soya partnered with Muiishi Makirritos to create a special artist inpired Universe Is Flux Sushi Roll for attendees to munch on. Our roll was a huge hit! It was a shame to have to tell everyone we didn’t actually make the sushi!!
Matt, Muiishi Makirritos chef, taught Brenda how to cut the rolls and how to display them, she loves to cook so this was right up her alley! HP, who is affectionately known to Brenda’s kids as “The Soy Sauce Man”, spent the night talking with all of our fans and creating new ones with samples of delicious Little Soya to go with their sushi rolls.
