But it’s more than just a tagline – it’s a promise. Here’s something you might not have known. Not only is Little Soya the preferred gluten-free soy sauce of some of the world’s top chefs, but it has also won the hearts of some of the most innovative and skilled mixologists. Today, we’re proud to share the recipe to one of the hottest new Little Soya-inspired cocktails – the Little Soya Cobbler. Featuring our out-of-this-world soy sauce and “the traditional spirit of china” byejoe – an ultra-premium baiju, China’s most popular traditional alcohol – this irresistible cocktail is the perfect choice for cooling off on a hot summer day.

Little Soya Cobbler

1.5 oz. byejoe Red

1 barspoon Little Soya soy sauce

0.5 oz. Rich Turbinado Syrup

Squeeze and drop 1 Key lime into shaker

Squeeze and drop Half a Mandarin into shaker

1 peach wedge into shaker

2 large black berries into shaker

Shake very hard

Strain over crushed ice and garnish with leftover fruit

 

Oh yeah, there’s one more step we almost forgot: ENJOYA!

 

 

 

 

Top Restaurants across New York City are Making the Big Apple Switch to Little Soya

New York City has long been considered the culinary capital of the United States, and for good reason. That’s why we decided it was high time that the Big Apple got a taste of Little Soya. So, we promoted the amazing Crystal Lee and sent her to New York on a very important mission we like to call the Big Apple Switch – get New York City’s top chefs and restaurants to make the switch to Little Soya’s gluten-free, less-sodium soy sauce.

After only a few short months, the results have been nothing short of phenomenal.

Our takeover of NYC started with a bang back in March when world-famous Nobu New York made the Big Apple Switch to Little Soya. The internationally famous restaurant founded by Nobuyuki Matsuhisa is now offering a tantalizing Little Soya inspired dessert Banana Soy Toban. The word delicious doesn’t even do it justice. With soy caramelized bananas, candied pecans, and Malaga ice cream, it delivers an out of this world flavor you have to taste to believe!

But we didn’t stop there. Not long after, TAO made the Big Apple Switch to Little Soya at its uptown and new downtown location in New York. The trendy restaurant uses our cute, convenient single-use fish packets with their to-go orders, and they’re a hit with diners!

From now until the end of the month, we are inviting fans to share their favorite gluten-free recipe creations with us. 3 million people in the United States have celiac disease, but only 10% of them have been diagnosed. It’s so important that we raise awareness for this disease so those with celiac disease and gluten intolerances can enjoy a healthier, happier life.

It’s also important to show the world that going gluten-free doesn’t have to mean going flavor-free. We worked hard to make sure that Little Soya wasn’t just a gluten-free soy sauce but that it was also the world’s best tasting soy sauce with rich flavor that is “so good you can drink it!”

Last month, we launched our new series “7 questions with…” Every month, we’ll be shining the spotlight on one our star team members at Little Soya, giving you the chance to get to know them a little better.

Today, we’re talking to the main man himself, Gary Murphy – the Founder, President, and CEO of Little Soya. Or as we like to call him around here, The Soy King. Gary founded Little Soya back in 2009 when the luxurious Caesar’s Palace Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas challenged his old china sourcing company Arisa Global to find them little fish-shaped soy sauce packets. Inspired by his mom’s recommendation to capitalize on the popularity of the unique fish-shaped soy sauce packets, he started Little Soya, and the rest is history.

So, without further ado, here are 7 Questions with Gary Murphy!

 

What do you do here at Little Soya?

Well, officially I’m the Founder, President & CEO.  But when friends and those close to me ask what I do, I generally say, I sell soy sauce.  And when friends ask “How’s it going?” My standard, but very true answer is, “Still slangin’ the soy.”  At its core, my job and my passion is to build and create the best tasting gluten free soy sauce on this planet.

 

What 3 words would use to describe yourself?

Dedicated. Sincere. Determined.

 

What do you like to do in your free time?

You want the short version?  OK, how exciting is this, I call it “Letting my brain rest.” That means doing nothing.  Well, that could be going to watch an independent film at Houston’s River Oaks Theatre or Sundance downtown, or it could be just watching a comedy movie with my beautiful sister Gena on a lazy Sunday afternoon.  Often, it’s truly just spending time with family.  I call it, Family First.

 

Do you have any special talents?

Umm… I can make a pretty good dinosaur walk out of my double jointed fingers.  Oh you mean, real talents?  Uh, let me think.  The pressure the pressure [if you can guess what movie that quote is from, send your answer to Ericka@LittleProductsCo.com to win a free pack of Little Soya and a kiss from Crystal]. Where were we? Oh yeah, back to talents.  I’m a people person. I have the ability to connect with anyone, be it a bike courier, entry level mail room guy, heavy metal rocker, male, female, young, old, up to the Chairman and CEO of the largest Fortune 500 company in the world.

 

What is something interesting that your co-workers don’t know about you?

I saved a sea turtle from near death on my last trip to Tulum, Mexico.  He was trapped for hours about 100 yards from the ocean.  Me, a hotel security guard and a server at the restaurant each spent about an hour together, one on each side of this massive 200lb turtle, helping him, inch by inch, free himself from a hole.  Then we watched him slowly but surely waddle back into the ocean. Oh, and I was also a licensed Private Investigator in my other life for about 9 years.

 

What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever tried Little Soya on?

I tried Little Soya in my cereal once… on ice cream [hey that was good]… in my beer a time or two!

 

What is your favorite thing to put Little Soya on?

Okay, don’t laugh, pizza! Really it just changes the flavor of any pizza slice instantly.  I also love to put it on pasta, and probably my all-time favorite is to marinate any kind of beef for an hour or two before cooking. Lather those babies up and cook!  Then coat each side once during cooking, and add a dash or two when it’s done!

“7 Questions with…” is a new series we’re starting here on Little Soya Buzz News. Every month, we’ll shine the spotlight on one of our star team members at Little Soya, giving you a chance to get to know them a little better.

We’re kicking things off with Crystal Lee, Little Soya’s VP of Global Accounts & Marketing. Crystal has been with the company since 2011, and she has played an integral role in helping Little Soya grow to become one of the most requested gluten-free soy sauces in the world. 1.       What do you do here at Little Soya?

Is this a trick question? I have my hands in a little bit of everything. However my actual title is VP of Global Accounts & Marketing.

 

2.       What 3 words would use to describe yourself?

Sweet, Angelic, Innocent. Okay not really… Let’s go with Alpha, Xenophile and Animated

 

3.       What do you like to do in your free time?

When is that?!! I like to eat food and drink wine, so anything that involves that. I also really love the Sauna. I enjoy the arts in all different forms as well.

 

4.       Do you have any special talents?

I can stand on my tippy toes. I have a pretty good grasp on Latin root words which gives me an edge in linguistics.

 

5.       What is something interesting that your co-workers don’t know about you?

The majority of my travels abroad have been by myself.

 

6.       What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever tried Little Soya on?

I don’t think it’s weird at all but Little Soya on Flatbread is yummy.

 

7.       What is your favorite thing to put Little Soya on?

So many things! But currently I’m loving it with Micheladas!

Little Soya Is Taking Over Sin City… AKA Las Vegas!

Vegas baby!

We warned you that Little Soya is planning to take over the world in 2014, and we figured, what better place to initiate our plan than in the city where it all started – in “the city that never sleeps”… Las Vegas. It’s the birthplace of Little Soya. Our first orders came from LV, and we wouldn’t have one of the world’s top less-sodium, gluten-free soy sauces if it wasn’t for the most beautiful city in the middle of the desert – Vegas!

That’s why it’s always extra special to us whenever we sign new clients there, and we’re thrilled to announce LV has been showing their appreciation and loyalty to us by adding new Little Soya clients all over Sin City.
