Gluten-Free Diets for Kids

Celiac disease currently affects about 1 in 133 people. That’s roughly 1% of the population. Unfortunately, about 83% of Americans, including kids, who have celiac disease are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed with other conditions. For kids with celiac, even consuming the smallest amount of gluten can lead to big trouble, making digestion difficult, blocking nutrient absorption, and leading to a host of unpleasant side effects.

A 100% gluten-free diet is the only known existing treatment for celiac today. So, if you suspect your child has celiac disease, go see a doctor and considering the benefits of switching your little one to a gluten-free diet.

There are tons of great gluten-free recipe ideas for kids, and Little Soya’s gluten-free soy sauce is always the perfect complement to a healthy diet.

Even if your child isn’t on a gluten-free diet, Little Soya’s cute little fish packets can inspire some really fun and tasty lunchbox ideas for your kids.

We really love this simple lunch box sushi recipe from Sandra’s Easy Cooking. It’s a great change of pace from the typical, boring sandwich, and a fun, tasty way for your kids to get their fruits and veggies. Add a packet of Little Soya to the mix, and your kids will be the envy of the cafeteria! (Tip: Don’t have the time or patience to make sushi? You can get pre-made sushi from your local grocery store and pack it with an ice pack in the lunch bag so it will last until lunch time. Don’t forget the Little Soya!)

Or if your kid isn’t a sushi lover, how about this neat idea from Lunch Box Blues? It’s brown rice, sausage, and soy sauce with a side of star fruit, blueberries, and a peanut butter sandwich on graham crackers. Talk about delicious!
