Houston, listen up. We’re thrilled to announce that Little Soya will have a booth at the TRA Marketplace June 22-23, 2014 at George R. Brown Convention Center. You DO NOT want to miss this! The whole Little Soya team is going to be there, and we’re going to have some special demonstrations from world-class chefs Philip Speer (Little Soya’s Executive Chef and Director of Culinary Operations for Uchi Restaurants) and Brandon Silva (Holley’s Seafood Restaurant and Oyster Bar.

The Details

The Texas Restaurant Association Marketplace is the biggest foodservice tradeshow in the entire region, attracting thousands of foodservice professionals and exhibitors for two full days of networking, education, selling, and buying. It’s the event of the year for the industry.

Little Soya will be in attendance both days with our own booth (#337). Here’s what we have on the itinerary:

Houston, listen up. If you don’t have plans this Friday evening April 4th, you need to get out to the 3rd annual Spotlight Asia: Cocktails and Cultural Fusions. And if you do already have plans, cancel them and come out to Spotlight Asia at the Asia Society Texas Center (1370 Southmore Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77004) because you’re going to kick yourself if you miss this event!

What is Spotlight Asia: Cocktails and Cultural Fusions?

It’s a remarkable evening dedicated to celebrating the best in Asian culture. Little Soya is proud to be sponsoring with our critically acclaimed and James Beard Award winning client, Uchi.  Come check out their pop-up restaurant at the event where diners will be dazzled with unexpected textures and flavors that truly push the boundaries of Japanese cuisine.

But that’s not the only attraction at Spotlight Asia: Cocktails and Cultural Fusions. Here are some of the other things you have to look forward to:

 

  • Bar Boheme will delight guests with signature appetizers.
  • Sushi will be provided by the Sushi King Glen Gondo and Sushic.
  • 13 celcius will offer a selection of curated sparkling wines.
  • Sparrow Bar + Cookshop will be serving up some delicious bites.

 

There will also be plenty of entertainment to keep the good times rolling all night long. DJ Kalkutta and DJ Baohaus will both be spinning on the turn tables, PaperCity Magazine will have a reading lounge available to let guests explore amazing works of literary art, and FlashBox | Houston will have a photo booth to capture all the great memories!

National Restaurant Association Show Was A Huge Success!

Little Soya attended the National Restaurant Association show in Chicago from May 18th to the 21st.
We arrived in Chicago and setup all of our booth equipment. McCormick Place convention center is insanely huge! Definitely one of the largest centers we have ever been to.
The first day of the show started great. Our booth was located in the Alternative Bitestyles section of the show next to many of the other healthier food options.

Throughout the show we made a lot of great contacts and met some fans as well. We had a lot of chefs, managers and owners of restaurants coming by. We all took turns walking around and checking out the other vendors. It’s very difficult to try and see everything because of the sheer size of this thing.

The third day of the show started out very busy. A lot of chefs and restaurants have off on Mondays so we could see a boost in traffic from this. We got more business cards, gave out more samples to chefs and spread the good word about Little Soya 5 Gallon for Food Service. Udi from the very popular gluten free company called Udi’s even came by our booth and Gary got a picture with him and his son.

After the show was over, we packed up our booth and got everything ready to be shipped back. We had opened two of the 5 gallon containers so instead of trying to ship them back, we decided to give them to two of the restaurants we had met with to allow them to try out Little Soya and they absolutely loved us for doing so.

Overall, we made a lot of great contacts and initiated the process of opening up the Chicago market for Little Soya. We are looking forward to coming back soon!

Little Soya Has Style!

Danny Nguyen is a local Houston fashion designer, and Little Soya will be attending his show tomorrow night at Momentum BMW Southwest! We love supporting and collaborating with local artists.

We had so much fun working with Danny’s brother, David, creating our short film “The Five Deadly Chefs” and we attend Danny’s shows every year!
